This is a step-by-step guide on how to set up your InMoat account, for both Gmail and Outlook users.
Step 1: Select your email provider
Sign into the InMoat app with your email account.
If you're a Gmail user, click "Sign in with Google."
If you're an Outlook user, click "Sign in with Outlook."
☝️ *Note: signing in with Outlook will only work for those who have Outlook as an email provider-- not the Outlook client.
To provide more information: Outlook as an email provider is different than the Outlook email client. The Outlook email client is a desktop application for email, which you can use for any email account (aol.com, yahoo.com, gmail.com, etc). Using the Outlook email client doesn't necessarily mean your email provider is Outlook.
Which email provider do I use?
If you're not sure which provider you use, take a look at the second half of your email address—the part beginning with '@'.
- If your email ends in @gmail.com or @googlemail.com, you're a Gmail user—click "Sign in with Google."
- If your email ends in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, or @live.com, you're an Outlook user—click "Sign in with Outlook."
- If your email ends with @icloud.com, @yahoo.com, @aol.com, or the name of another service like these, you're probably not a Gmail or Outlook user, and InMoat won't work with your email account. You can check by navigating to gmail.com or outlook.com and trying to sign in—if you see your email inbox after signing into one of these services, then use that same service to sign into InMoat too.
If you're still not sure which provider you use, send us an email and we'll be happy to help.
Once you've selected either "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Outlook," you'll see a statement about how InMoat uses your data. If you click "Accept," you'll be able to proceed to the next step. To learn more about how we use and protect your data, read our Privacy Policy.
Step 2: Sign into your email account
Once you've clicked "Accept," you'll be prompted to sign in using your email account. Type in the email address for the email account you'd like to use with InMoat, then press "Next."
Step 3: Grant permissions
Both Gmail and Outlook will ask you to grant InMoat permission to connect to your inbox. For Gmail users, select "Allow." For Outlook users, select "Yes."
Why do I have to grant app permissions?
InMoat needs to access your emails in order to filter them accordingly to your criteria. Without access, InMoat can not connect and provide email management services. To learn more about how InMoat handles user data, read our Data Privacy & Security overview and how we adhere to both Google's and Microsoft's API policies.
InMoat has passed Google's annual security audit and has been verified by Google's Trust & Safety team.
Step 4: Choose a subscription plan
InMoat has 3 plans: Free, Personal, and Professional. You can learn more about plans here.
That’s it—you're all set!
InMoat is now successfully connected to your inbox. After picking your plan, you will be directed to the InMoat dashboard, where you'll go through a quick onboarding process.
Note: After successfully connecting to InMoat, you will notice a new “@InMoat” folder within your actual mailbox. The @InMoat folder is where all your unwanted emails will be moved. (If you’re not seeing the @InMoat folder appear in your inbox, try refreshing your browser).
